With a Master’s degree in Biochemistry (Utrecht, Netherlands), an MBA from INSEAD (France) and a graduate degree in music, she has headed Novartis since March 2019.She has held various strategic company positions in the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the Netherlands. She was awarded the ‘Belgium D&I CEO of the year’ prize in 2013 for promoting flexibility in the work environment so professionals can balance their family and personal lives with their work lives.

Janneke headed the World Wide Neuroscience Business Franchise, where she ensured the continuous progress of medication for multiple sclerosis and built the company’s neuroscience project.

In December 2016 she became a member of the Novartis Pharma Executive Committee as Global Head of Product & Portfolio Strategy, where she led scientific and business development and was responsible for the growth of the company’s market share in all its lines of work.
