Undergraduate degree in Information Sciences (Journalism) from the Complutense University of Madrid, and in Sociology from UNED, María Luisa Melo has a Master’s in Business Administration from the Instituto de Empresa (IE) and a postgraduate degree in Economic Information from the University of Zaragoza.

María Luisa Melo has had a long career in communication media, where she has worked with national and economic information.In her next professional stage, she took the leap into a company, and was hired to IBM, in the Corporate Communications Department, until she joined Huawei Spain in 2011.

Among other recognitions, she was appointed as the Most Valuable Communication Director in Spain in 2017 and Second Most in 2019, according to the biannual report PR SCOPE.María Luisa Melo is also a Board member at the association Digital ESand Multinationals for Brand Spain, as the Chairwoman on the Innovation Committee of the latter from 2017 to 2020.
